Bloomington, IN - Ivy Tech & BPP presents the Youth Musical Theatre
Ensemble's (YMTE) production of Zombie Prom, the hit off-Broadway send-up of
teen monster movies of the 1950s laced with original rock 'n' roll tunes in
the style of the era.
Set in the atomic 1950s at Enrico Fermi High, the law is laid down by a
zany, tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class
bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he rides his
motorcycle into the cooling tower of the local nuclear power plant. He
returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee's heart. He still wants to
graduate, but most of all he wants to take Toffee to the prom.
The stakes are high for the students of the Youth Musical Theatre Ensemble
(YMTE), a four-week camp for 11-17 year olds where teens learn the skills
needed to produce and perform a professional theatre piece for the general
public. This year YMTE celebrates its eleventh year of theatre outreach with
the Off-Broadway sensation Zombie Prom, a full-length musical with a
rigorous rehearsal schedule that gives students real-time experience
handling the demands and rewards of life in the theatre. The program is
directed by Eric Anderson, Jr.- the BPP's Kissing Frogs-and features public
performances the first week of August.

Journey to the unique and historic Woolery Stone Mill to experience fine
dining mixed with the creativity and originality synonymous with the BPP.
Once the hard-working limestone mill featured in Breaking Away, the Woolery
Stone Mill is located about one mile east of SR 37 in southern Indiana. The
remnants of monumental limestone blocks echo the heritage of the city, while
the massive glass and steel frame of the mill evokes the edifices built from
the stones that were cut there. The Woolery Stone Mill is the perfect
location for the Light Up the Sky Gala -- a chance to celebrate the BPP in a
setting steeped in the history and traditions of our corner of southern
Indiana.
