RENTING
SPACE AT THE BLOOMINGTON PLAYWRIGHTS
PROJECT
The
Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP) is located
in beautiful downtown Bloomington, within blocks of IU, at
107 W. 9th
Street between College and Walnut. Many restaurants
and stores are within walking distance.
We
welcome rentals, but please be advised that dates are limited due to our very
busy schedule. We suggest contacting us 2-3 months in advance of your event.
These amenities are
available for all rentals:

The Timothy J. Wiles Mainstage

- Hourly Rental
Fee: $50/hour with 2 hour minimum
- Daily Rental
Fee: $200 for eight hours, $10 per additional hour on the same day.
- Stage area is
28’ wide and 16’ deep
- Concrete floor
- 48 upholstered
seats fixed to movable platforms; 50 folding chairs available for additional
seating
- Total Seating
Capacity: 98
- Entrances from
lobby, alley, and from 9th St.
- Computer-operated
lighting system. Light designer/technician must be trained/approved by the
BPP.
- Sound system,
mixer, and CD player

2 Dressing
Rooms with mirrored dressing tables

and painting equipment negotiable

The Lora Shiner
Studio/Lobby
- Hourly Rental Fee: $25/hour with 2
½ hour minimum
- Can also be used for events not
requiring theatrical capabilities such as receptions, parties, lectures, etc.
- 16' x 16' raised platform stage
- Seating area is 26’ wide and 23’
feet deep
- 50 chairs available for
audience
- Some theatrical lighting, not as
extensive as the Mainstage
- Entrance from 9th
St.
- Beautiful
artwork by Bellevue Gallery on display year-round

The BPP
is wheelchair accessible.
Rentals
may occur between 10 AM and midnight.
A $200
deposit is required for all rentals and a contract must be signed by both the
BPP and the renter. Deposit will be returned once all contractual obligations
have been met.
