Bomb|Shell

A presentation of the BPP's Major Playwrights Series

Each year, Artistic Director Chad Rabinovitz goes out of his way to pull together some of the top playwrights in the country to pen world-premiere plays specifically for the BPP.  This year’s list of playwrights is the most impressive and diverse yet including an Academy Award nominee, multiple Emmy winners and a two-time Tony winner.  These eight ten-minute plays will center on the theme of War & Peace, while ranging from the absurdly hysterical, poignantly dramatic, and even musically sweet… you’ll find yourself laughing just as much as you’re thinking.  Video, music, and theatricality make Bomb|Shell an original entertainment that can only be found at the BPP.

With promotional support from IU’s Themester program, Bomb|Shell will be the talk of the town this October.

This year’s featured playwrights, each commissioned to write a new play for the BPP, include:

Jesse Eisenberg (2010 Academy Award Nominee, Best Actor – The Social Network, Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less)

Jeff Daniels (Three-time Golden Globe nominee, Tony Nominee – The Squid and the Whale, God of Carnage, The Purple Rose of Cairo)

Greg Kotis (Two-time Tony winner, Urinetown the Musical)

Erin Levy (2010 Emmy winner, Mad Men)

Tami Sagher (Three-time Writers Guild Award Winner for Comedy – 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, MadTV)

Paris Barclay (Two-time Emmy winner – Glee, NYPD Blue, House M.D., Sons of Anarchy, In Treatment, ER, The West Wing)

Stephen Massicotte (National Contest winner, Betty Mitchell Award Winner for Best New Play – Mary’s Wedding)

Mark Kingsbury (Local Contest winner)
